Free and Pro plans
What Pro adds to your Privacy Center, what it costs, how an Admin upgrades, and what pauses if the workspace goes back to Free.
Every workspace is on one of two plans. Free costs nothing, and a new workspace starts on it. Pro costs US$247 a month and adds three Privacy Center features. Everything else, including the compliance registers, people services and DPO services, is the same on both plans, and each is subscribed to on its own.
What Pro adds
| Feature | Free | Pro |
|---|---|---|
| Privacy Center | Your public hub and its policies | Your public hub and its policies |
| Your own domain | The workspace address only | Serve hubs at an address you own |
| Brand hubs | Your own hub only | A hub for each brand, as many as you need |
| Multi-language policies | English only | English and nine more: German, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Romanian and Greek |
See Connect a custom domain and Publish a policy for how they work.
Upgrade to Pro
Only an Admin can upgrade, and your company's legal name has to be saved under Settings › Organization first.
- Go to Settings › Organization and scroll to Plan, where Free and Pro sit side by side and yours is tagged Current plan.
- Select Upgrade to Pro at the foot of Pro.
- Pay in Stripe's checkout form, which opens in a panel. You can enter a promotion code there.
Once Stripe confirms the payment, the panel says the workspace is on Pro. Until then it waits, and you can reload the page without losing anything. If you close the panel before paying, Pro offers Continue to checkout to pick up where you left off.
On Pro, the tile shows the subscription's status and the date it renews, and View billing leads to Settings › Billing. Pro is billed monthly by card. A workspace that moved over from our previous platform keeps the price it already paid, and the tile shows that price.
The Upgrade to Pro notes on the Privacy Center's Brand and Policies tabs lead to the same Plan section.
Go back to Free
Cancel Pro from Settings › Subscriptions, where it's listed as Pro plan. It ends at the close of the period you've paid for. Until then the workspace stays on Pro, and Pro's tile shows the date it ends. See Cancel a subscription.
What pauses on Free
When Pro ends, what you set up on Pro is paused, never deleted:
- A custom domain stays connected, but visitors are sent to your workspace's own address instead.
- Brand hubs keep their content but aren't shown. Visitors to a brand's pages see your own hub.
- Policy translations keep every version but aren't shown. Visitors see the English policy.
The Brand and Policies tabs mark each paused item Paused. On Free you can still edit, unpublish or remove a brand hub, give a domain back, and edit or remove a translation, but you can't add a domain, add or publish a brand hub, or add or publish a translation. Upgrade again and everything is served from the next visit, with nothing to set up twice.
If a Pro payment fails
While Stripe retries a failed payment, the workspace stays on Pro and the Plan section asks you to update the payment method from Settings › Billing. If the subscription ends up unpaid, the workspace moves to Free and its Pro features pause until you pay the open invoice from Settings › Billing. See What happens when a payment fails.
