Close a notice without deciding

End a duplicate, spam or mistaken notice with a reason instead of a decision, one at a time or several at once.

Some notices shouldn't be decided at all: a duplicate, spam or one filed by mistake. Closing one records your reason in place of a decision. Any member of your workspace can close a notice that's still open.

Close one notice

  1. Open the notice in Compliance › Content Safety › Reports.
  2. Choose Close without deciding from the menu at the top of the drawer.
  3. Give a Reason, such as the earlier notice it duplicates, and select Close report.

The notice becomes Closed, and your reason shows in its drawer under Closed without a decision. Nothing is sent to the reporter, and the act is written to the audit log.

This is final. A closed notice can't be reopened or decided later.

Close several at once

Tick the notices in the queue and select Close… in the bar that appears. Fill in Why these are being closed and select the button that names how many you're closing. The one reason is recorded on each of them, and any that have already been decided or closed are left as they were.

When a reporter withdraws a notice

A reporter who gave an email address can withdraw an undecided notice from your Privacy Center's status page. It then shows as Closed, with the reason "Withdrawn by the reporter through the Privacy Center." A decided notice can't be withdrawn.

A closed or withdrawn notice still counts towards the notices your plan includes; see Notices included in your plan.
