Off-board an employee

Record an employee's last working day, which terminates their agreements and ends their Employer of Record subscription.

Off-boarding records an employee's last working day with EU Presence as their employer. It also ends the agreements on their record and the monthly subscription you pay for them.

Before you off-board

This can't be undone. Nothing in the platform reverses an off-boarding. Every employment agreement still awaiting signature or signed is marked Terminated straight away, even when the last working day is in the future.

Record the last working day

  1. Go to People › Employees and select the employee.
  2. Select Off-board at the foot of their record.
  3. In Off-board this employee, set Last working day. It starts at today's date.
  4. Select Off-board, or Not now to leave without changing anything.

What changes

  • The record shows the last working day, and every employment agreement still awaiting signature or signed is marked Terminated, in one entry on the audit log.
  • Our operations team is emailed, and the off-boarding is recorded in your workspace's Notifications.
  • The employee reads as Off-boarded once their last working day has passed. From then, their registration documents can be downloaded but not changed, and the record no longer offers Off-board.

What happens to the subscription

If the employee's subscription is running, it's set to end on its first renewal date after the last working day. The billing period that includes the last working day is the last one charged, and nothing is prorated. Settings › Subscriptions then shows the date it ends.

If payment never started, there's nothing to cancel, and payment can't be started once their last working day is recorded.

Ending the subscription from Settings › Subscriptions doesn't off-board anyone. The person's service keeps running until you off-board them on their record. See Cancel a subscription.
