Pay for an employee
Start the fixed monthly Employer of Record fee in Stripe's checkout from the employee's record, once our team has approved the hire.
Each employee on our Employer of Record service is a subscription of US$427 a month, paid in Stripe's checkout. You start it from the employee's record once our team has approved the hire.
Before you pay
- The record's Onboarding must read Awaiting payment. Until our team approves the hire it reads Awaiting review, and the record says payment becomes available after approval.
- You need to be a workspace admin.
- Your company's legal details must be saved. If the checkout asks you to add them under Settings › Organization, see organisation details first.
Start the payment
- Go to People › Employees and select the employee.
- In Employer of Record service, tick Add a background check if you want one on the first invoice. See Order a background check.
- Select Pay US$427 monthly. With the background check ticked, the button reads Pay US$427 monthly + US$100 once.
- Stripe's checkout form opens in a panel. Enter your payment details and pay inside the form.
- Wait for Stripe to confirm the payment. If you close the panel, the page keeps waiting.
When Stripe confirms, Onboarding reads Ready for finalization, Billing reads Active and Next renewal shows the date of the next charge. The record says our team will file the executed agreement and complete onboarding, and our operations team is told the payment is confirmed.
You can also pay from Settings › Subscriptions, which lists everyone awaiting payment with the same Pay US$427 monthly button. A background check can only be added from the employee's record.
What the fee covers
The fee is EU Presence's service fee for the person, fixed at US$427 a month. Each employee's subscription renews monthly from its own first payment, and nothing is prorated. The checkout carries the fee and, if you add it, the one-time background check. Nothing else is charged in it.
The fee isn't the cost of the employment. The salary you enter on the hire form is the monthly gross, and the form notes that the amount invoiced for the employment is the total cost of employment: gross salary plus employer contributions, accrued severance, and 13th and 14th salary where applicable. That invoice is in the Invoicing currency you chose, and it isn't paid in this checkout.
Payroll and Benefits, under People, are marked Coming soon.
After you've paid
- Settings › Billing lists every invoice Stripe has issued to your workspace, and opens Stripe's billing portal, where you manage your card and payment details. See Manage billing.
- If a renewal fails, the record's Billing reads Payment failed. An onboarding that's already complete stays complete. See What happens when a payment fails.
- Off-boarding the employee ends the subscription. See Off-board an employee.
