Open your first register
Subscribe to a compliance register and sign its representation mandate, and its tabs unlock.
Each of the five compliance registers answers to one EU law, and each opens once two things are done: its subscription is paid, and its representation mandate is signed. The mandate appoints EU Presence as your representative under that law. Until both are done, the register's tabs are locked, and each one shows the two steps.
The five registers
| Register | Law | The role the mandate gives us |
|---|---|---|
| Privacy | GDPR, Article 27 | Article 27 representative |
| Content Safety | Digital Services Act, Article 13 | Legal representative |
| Cyber Resilience | NIS 2 Directive, Article 26(3) | Representative |
| AI Governance | AI Act, Article 22 | Authorised representative |
| Product Safety | General Product Safety Regulation, Article 16 | Responsible person |
Which of these apply depends on what your company does. The EU regulation finder is a place to start, and if you're unsure, ask us.
Before you start
- Only an admin can subscribe or sign.
- Subscribe first: the mandate can be signed once the subscription is active.
- You pay in Stripe's checkout, which opens inside the page.
Subscribe and sign
Privacy is the example here; the other four registers work the same way.
- Go to Compliance › Privacy. The page reads Subscribe, sign the mandate, and Privacy opens. The two steps are under Before Privacy opens, and the tabs they unlock are under What opens.
- Select Subscribe to Privacy. The step states the price and, for a register that bills usage, how much the fee includes and what each extra item costs. Pay in Stripe's form in the Privacy subscription panel. The panel closes once Stripe confirms the payment, and the step reads Subscribed to Privacy.
- Select Sign the mandate. The Article 27 representative mandate opens in SignNow's signing screen. Sign inside the document; the panel closes once SignNow confirms your signature.
- The register opens with all its tabs.
If Stripe or SignNow takes a while to confirm, you can close the panel. The step keeps waiting and updates as soon as the confirmation arrives.
What happens next
- The signed mandate is filed in Documents, and the register's Settings tab offers Download mandate.
- Your workspace is notified when the subscription starts and when we receive the signed mandate, and our operations team is told.
- The Subscriptions card on Home shows where each register stands. To change or cancel a subscription, see manage billing.
