Set up and publish your Privacy Center
Fill in the page's details and look, work through the go-live checklist, and publish the page once a policy is in force.
Your Privacy Center isn't on the web until you publish it, and you can publish it only once a policy is in force. The Go-live checklist on the Overview tab shows what's left and links each step to the tab where you take it. Anyone in your workspace can do all of this, apart from a DPO you've hired.
Fill in the hub details
- Go to Privacy Center › Brand.
- On Hub details, select Set up. Once the hub exists, the button reads Edit details.
- Under Identity, fill in:
- Display name, the name the page goes by, shown in its header until you add a logo. It's the only field you must fill in.
- Legal entity, the legal person that controls the personal data published under this name.
- Privacy contact, the address visitors write to about their personal data. Leave it empty and the page has no contact section.
- Website, where the header links. Leave it empty and the header links to the website in your organisation's details.
- Under Appearance, choose a Heading font, used for titles only, and a Brand colour, used for links and filled controls. Reset to default puts back EU Presence's colour.
- Select Save changes.
The card's Public URL row shows the address the page is served at. To change the look later, select Edit appearance on the Appearance card.
Add your logo
On the Appearance card, select Upload beside Logo, or Replace once one is on file. Use an SVG, PNG or WebP file under 1 MB. The logo appears in the page's header in place of the display name. Until you add one, the header shows the display name with its first letter as a mark. You need to set up the hub before you can add a logo.
Work through the go-live checklist
The checklist on the Overview tab has two groups.
- Before the page goes live has six rows: Fill in the hub details, Upload your logo, a custom domain, Write a policy and publish a version, Add at least one certification and Publish the page. The hub details row stays open until you've set a privacy contact, so visitors have somewhere to write. The custom domain is optional, and on Free its row is marked as not applicable. Apart from setting up the hub, only a policy in force is required before you can publish: the page publishes without a logo or a certification.
- What the page can show has a row for each register the page reads: Privacy request form and status page, Illegal content form and transparency reports, AI systems listing and Recall notices. A row is ticked once its register is open, and otherwise says what's holding it back, such as a missing subscription, a failed payment or an unsigned mandate.
Publish the page
- Make sure at least one policy is in force: a published version that has taken effect, on a policy you haven't unpublished. See Publish a policy.
- On Privacy Center › Brand, find the Your public page card and select Publish hub.
- In Publish the hub, select Publish hub.
The page goes live at its address in your branding, with the policies in force and the certifications you list. The card then reads Live and offers Open in new tab ↗, and the act is written to your audit log. The page stays up until you take it offline.
If no policy is in force, the button reads Cannot publish yet, and a note above it explains why, with a Go to Policies → link.
Take the page offline
On the Your public page card, select Take offline, then Take offline again in Take the hub off the web. Visitors stop getting the page, its policy pages and its logo at the address. Your policies and certifications stay as they are, each brand hub keeps its own switch, and the act is written to your audit log.
The privacy request form, the illegal content form and the request status page are served only while at least one of your hubs is published. Taking your page offline takes them down too, unless a brand hub is still live.
