Unpublish or delete a policy
Take a policy off your Privacy Center while keeping every issued version, put it back, or delete it with all its versions.
There are two ways to take a policy off your Privacy Center. Unpublishing hides it and keeps every version it has issued. Deleting removes it and all its versions for good. Both are on the policy's card on Privacy Center › Policies.
Unpublish a policy
- On the policy's card, open the menu and select Unpublish. It's offered once the policy has published something.
- In Unpublish this policy, select Unpublish.
The policy comes off your hub as of today, in every language it has. Every issued version stays on the record in full, so you can still say what a text said. The card reads Off the hub and shows the day it came off, and the act is written to your audit log.
Unpublishing your only policy in force doesn't take your Privacy Center offline. The page stays up with an empty policy list until you publish another policy or take the page offline.
Put it back on the hub
On the card of a policy that's off the hub, select Put back on the hub, then Put back on the hub again in the dialog. The policy returns with the version that's in force. The day it came off and the reason are cleared, and the act is written to the audit log.
Delete a policy
- On the policy's card, open the menu and select Delete policy.
- In Delete this policy, select Delete policy.
The policy and every version it has issued are deleted, published ones included and in every language, and its address stops answering. If nothing was ever published from it, deleting removes the policy and its drafts.
Can't be undone. After a deletion, the audit log entry is all that remains of the policy. If you might need to show what an earlier text said, unpublish it instead.
