Edit a product's details and documents
Correct a product's details, reassess its Article 6 risk, and file its technical documentation and picture.
Open a product from the Product registry tab to change what the register holds about it. Each change is written to the audit log. A withdrawn product is read-only.
Edit the details
- Open the product and choose Edit details from its More actions menu.
- Change what you need under Product information, Business information and Scope. Picking a different manufacturer clears a brand that doesn't belong to it.
- Click Save changes.
The product type and the scoping answers given at registration can't be changed. To revise the legislation that applies, use Edit legislation: see Make a declaration of conformity. An edit doesn't remake a composed declaration's PDF; submit the declaration again to file a copy that reflects it.
Reassess the risk
- Click Reassess beside Article 6 risk assessment, or Assess if none is recorded.
- Choose the Risk level, Low, Medium or High, the date it was Assessed on, and What the assessment found.
- Click Record assessment.
The GPSR sets no risk classes: Article 6 lists the aspects a safety assessment weighs, and the level is your own conclusion. It shows in the registry's Risk column and in the High-risk SKUs tile.
File the technical documentation
Article 9(2) requires an internal risk analysis and technical documentation before a product is placed on the market, and Article 9(3) requires the documentation to be kept for ten years after. Under Article 9(2) technical documentation, click Upload or Replace, choose a PDF or ZIP of up to 50 MB, add the date it was Compiled on if you want, and confirm.
The file is listed in Documents as Technical documentation, and a replacement keeps its link. Under Identification, Documentation kept until shows the date ten years after the product was placed on the market.
Add or replace the picture
A recall notice must show the product's picture (Article 36(2)(b)(i)). Under Product picture, click Upload or Replace and choose a JPEG, PNG or WebP of up to 5 MB. Remove deletes the picture once you confirm Remove picture, so upload a new one before you publish a recall notice for the product.
